Happy New Year everyone! If you're like me, you may have a few goals for 2018. Mine seem to have a bit of theme. Essentially, they could be summed up in the goal to be more present and mindful.
1. Less social media. In fact, I just downloaded an app that sets my daily limit on social media to 30 minutes a day. I'm a little nervous about it. But I'm hoping that by setting limits I can be more productive during work hours, more present during off hours, stay away from the comparison game, and not let me life pass by in the scroll of a finger.
2. Exercise and weight loss. I've gained some weight since I got married. My hairstylist calls it fat and happy, which is probably the most accurate description I've heard. BUT I'm probably not my most healthy even though I'm the most fit I've been in a long time. So I'm working on not overeating and incorporating daily yoga into my exercise regimen.
3. Read a book a month. Go on at least one hike a month. As I've spent more time on social media, I've read less. I want to change that. I also want to hike more in addition to the daily trips to the park with the dogs. Basically, I want to experience my life deeply – breathe it all in and be fully present in the moments.
All that being said, part of my 2018 goals is to also do more sessions like this one. I LOVE spending time with couples in their home or at a place that is important to them. And these two were about as cute as it gets. The thing is, your home does not need to be lavish for a session like this to be beautiful. It's really about being completely comfortable in your environment and with one another. Being home, allows you to create some truly lovely images of you and your love.
